Iris Jacobs has always had a deep love for character—bold personalities with distinct tastes, styles, and voices. From a young age, she observed how people behave, talk, and move, shaping her understanding of performance. While studying Cultural Design, she acted in a play and later guided talent; writers, directors, singers, and actors in her roles at Cosmic Theatre, Jaques Senf, and Fable Factory.
Though writing and directing came quite naturally, acting became a passion in it’s own right, this passion was a slow burner. After relocating to Barcelona, Iris joined Mot Management and Mira Model and during the many castings that she did, she always came out rejuvenated, as if something during the mostly simple acting jobs; sparked a fire in her. Acting in a car commercial during the pandemic made her decide to keep this fire burning. She wants to do more theatre and film-productions, any production that gives her the opportunity to grow as a writer, director and (voice) actor.
Expanding her career into voice acting with Transperfect, working for companies like Amazon, Chivaudan, and Vodafone. During the pandemic, she narrated the audiobook Dutch Conversational Dialogues. In spring 2024 she wrote lyrics for her long time friend and singer songwriter; Evgeny Freska, from the band Feyleryn, and together they brought out the single : Rhythmic Reverie feat. Iris Jacobs.
The single received some nice reviews, and it taste like more! In winter 2024 they are planning to come together again to make more music, the lyrics are cooking.
In 2021, after a transformative ‘Directing Performance’ workshop at The Actors Space, Iris committed to acting more seriously, seeking roles in theater, film and voice acting, particularly in character-driven projects. Passionate about physical theatre and movement, she continues to refine her skills in both English and Spanish, and of course her mother tongue; Dutch.
